Rose + Tulsi Popsicles 🌹
beauty all around
It’s August; we blinked and here we are!
This offering is simple: a delightful popsicle recipe.
I’ll start by saying that popsicle molds might be my best purchase of the summer, allowing me to turn all my herbal tea concoctions into cooling, delicious popsicles. Of all my experiments, the one I’m sharing today is my favorite: rose + tulsi.
These make me feel joyful, playful, rosy and supported from long days spent basking and working in the sun. Popsicles bring me back to being a kid, unfazed by getting messy and racing against time to see how much you could lick before the ice melted all over your hands and face.
Rose + tulsi popsicle, pothos peeking, and what’s left of my last gel manicure.
Here’s the recipe:
1 tablespoon rose petals
1 tablespoons tulsi
2 cups of good water
Raw honey (optional)
Bring the water to a boil and pour over the rose and tulsi in a pot or bowl. Steep at least 1 hour until the tea has cooled. Strain, sweeten if desired, and pour into popsicle molds. Freeze at least six hours or overnight. Enjoy!
Rose has the highest vibration of all flowers (320 MHz) and their beauty has captivated people since the beginning of time. She has always felt like a guide to me, and experiencing more of rose through herbalism has been like reconnecting with an old friend and seeing them in a new way. The multitudes of rose help us open our hearts to all the beauty around and within us, fostering deep love and compassion for ourselves, each other, and our world. Rose-colored glasses don’t have to be a bad thing — I imagine them as a pair of bifocals that let you hold the imperfect vision of things as they are, while not obscuring their inherent beauty.
If you’ve ever been pricked by a thorn, you’ll know that beauty must be respected and protected. Check in with yourself. When’s the last time you honored your own sacred beauty? How do you protect the most delicate parts of yourself?
While a popsicle alone won’t change the world, I hope these can help you see things a little rosier as the summer winds down, and inspire you to create and see more beauty wherever you happen to find yourself. I’d love to know how this resonates with you!
